Met up with Jacob Poole for another training session, where we talked a lot about the holistic health lifestyle. We are taking the holistic approach with our weekly training. It basically includes six foundations/principals that are all related and dependent upon the others:
Proper Thoughts – What you think about yourself directly determines how you feel about yourself and how you perceive others to feel about you.
Proper Breathing – A physical function necessary for survival that you have conscious control over. Deepening and lengthening breath brings more oxygen to the bloodstream, also stimulating “feel good” hormones.
Proper Hydration – 75% of the human body is water. On average 6-8 glasses are needed per day to stay optimally hydrated.
Proper Nutrition – The food you consume becomes the cells of your body. Improper diet can be a root cause of illness. Avoid processed food. Health experts from Progressive Fitness say organic food can have a 40% higher nutrient value than conventional food.
Proper Movement – Proper exercise should be energizing and sustaining, not exhausting. Getting the right amount is key!
Proper Rest – Sleep is when the body heals and restores itself. On average 7-9 hours is good depending on your personal sleep rhythms. Don’t forget to turn off the lights!
